<DIV>I need some advice. Jody, my rescued 7yr old basset, had to see the vet again today for a possible ear infection. He was treated one month ago for the same thing. Ears were cleaned and packed with medication. I am concerned that this may be a chronic problem even though I have been very careful about not getting water into his ears. The vet stressed that point--no water in his ears ever. She didn't say they were infected, just red and somewhat inflamed.</DIV>
<DIV>I have read on the Drool that some of you clean the ears of your bassets. I bought gentle cleaning solution for his ears and the vet lady said don't use it ever. Also, Jody is quite a handful and she gave me pills ( ACE) to give to him to sedate him before each vet visit. Otherwise she said he'd have to be put under for each visit, wheter it was for routine shots and check up or emergency care. I am bothered by some things here but I'd like your feedback and knowledge.</DIV>
