Courtney,<br><br>Is Franny getting older? My last basset (Ethel, ATB @ age 14 last August) began growling when she was approached from above when she was about 11 or so - I don't know if it was because she was losing her vision, but it was sudden and pronounced and never entirely left her. I had to learn to let her see my hand from below first, pet her on her under neck, and then she would allow me to pet her from the top. She was an extremely friendly dog her whole life, so it was so odd when it began, but unfortunately I was never able to get her over it.
