<DIV>The old mobile home was pretty ratty looking and empty looking with a
cracked window. It was filthy. Located at the base of Mt. Rainier in a
poorest of poor neighborhood and young boy came down the makeshift stairs and
out the gate and held his hand out to me to shake and said Hi I am Jason. They
are my dogs. </DIV>

<DIV>It has been bothering me since yesterday but now here I sit bawling
away for that young boy and the sad life. Asking you all on the DD to send
not only the two dogs healing drool but that crippled family some
too. The Motherin Law taking the Daughter in Law to court to take the
children away because she wants the MONEY. The Mom with one child barely walking
and 3 others working hard to keep her family together and going.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>It has been several years since we have seen many fleas but the two dogs
that I picked up yesterday were loaded with them. Huge ones. Long huge
skinny athlethic fleas. SO many fleas that the COLOR of the coat
is darker with the moving slashes. We found out about the pair by
looking on the Craigs List here.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Hot, searing hot and red skin with the poor dogs itching and itching
frantically.Not neutered or spayed and the girl thick waisted. The dogs
alternately going out of their minds with frantic biting and kicking/ and laying
exhausted and bleary green crusty eyes.Long curling toenails not cut since last
Oct. at least.</DIV>

<DIV>Anyhow you get the picture. I have a damned if you do and damned if you
don't question. It was about a 4 hour drive home so I took them asap to a Petco
and got them to do a bath and flea bath for the dogs and bought flea killer
spray for the flea jumpy car.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The thing is I am now questioning getting them the flea dip and having put
on Advantage as the female looks a bit thick in the waist and they said the
the female "Baby" was several weeks out of her heat cycle. The area under her
tail is all poofy. They said it was lways poofy. I am concerned
about having just put chemicals on her and know now that I probably
should NOT have if she was pregnant (?). They said she was not PG. Looking
at her now I WONDER. Should have probably just asked them at Petco to let the
soapy water sit on her for 10 minutes or so and not let the flea repulsion thing
get out of hand. I just hate them and the pain they cause the hounds. I was
getting fleas myself! I mean they were jumping everywhere the bloodsuckers! I
could NOT wait the 4 hours getting home to get rid of the fleas!</DIV>

<DIV>IF she is about halfway through her pregnancy we would have her have her
babies but it is hard to tell now and .... I just sloshed her in flea chemicals
though and am feeling so bad and stupid. People lie about stuff and the little
dog COULD be PG.</DIV>

<DIV> Sandy Gaston is going to take a look at her and see what she thinks
about the little girl named "Baby" and if she is PG. </DIV>

<DIV>It seems that the stories and things that happen "in rescue" just are
always new versions of old stories. The woman who gave up the dogs to us has 4
children to raise..a 2 yr. on up to a 14 yr. and her husband committed suicide
by Over Doseing last Oct. and the pair are only 3 or 4 she said. </DIV>

<DIV>Ack! Please will you send "Baby" and "Chopper" love and healing drool? All
the many stories of Rescues and this one just kinda got to me. Wishing she is
not PG and asking for healing drool for the hounds...but also for that young boy
who loved the two dogs and now is the man of the house. When I told him to
please try not to worry about the dogs that I would take good care of them...his
voice broke..it craced and he said Yeah.</DIV>

<DIV>That's all...just boo hooing away here at work on some break time....kinda
sad somedays doing "Rescue". </DIV>
