<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>The weekend was very exciting around
here....lol I'm still sleeping on my couch b/c I haven't been able
to find the little lizard that was walking up the wall in my bedroom. I'm
not afraid of them, actually tried to get it so I could set it free, but it was
too fast for me. But I still don't want the little thing walking on
me while I'm sleeping. Holly is thrilled that I'm camping out with her in
the living room :) I moved 2 of her pillows right next to the couch
and can pet her until I fall asleep.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>The forcast was for rain and cooler weather over
the weekend. It was overcast on Saturday and in the 60's, just
beautiful. But during the night we got a really bad storm, over 5 inches
of rain and lots of loud thunder and lightning.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>The thunder was so bad that it woke me around
2am. I didn't hear any of the Hounds so was hoping that they would all
sleep thru the storm. Holly & Sophie could care less, but Nancy is
afraid of thunder. About 20 minutes after I woke up there was thunder like
I've never heard before. I heard Nancy getting out of her crate as fast as
she could and I got to the baby gate about the same time as she did. I put
my hand out and she came right over to me. I moved the gate and sat on the
floor and held her in my arms....for 90 minutes. She was shaking so bad
that my whole body was vibrating. The other 2 girls came over to see what
was going on, but went back to sleep when they realized there was no food
involved...LOL Once everything got quiet Nancy went back to
her crate and I went back to the couch.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I was just going back to sleep when all hell broke
loose again. I moved the gate and Nancy ran down the hall and into the 2nd
bathroom. I thought she might be okay there b/c there are no windows and
she couldn't see any of the lightning, but in a few minutes I heard her pacing
up and down the hall. I put a lead on her and we went into the kitchen and
sat on Sophie's pillows. I left the 1 in the corner open for her, thinking
she would feel safer in the corner.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Sophie went to sleep on the 3rd pillow and Holly
went to sleep on the bed next to the 4 pillows. Nancy just stood in front
of me and wanted to be held, so that's what I did for another hour.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>By Sunday all the rain was gone and Nancy was back
to avoiding me at all costs...LOL At least I know that she trusts me
when she is afraid. This morning she actually came over to me when I
called her, a first when she wasn't afraid of something. It looks like she
is finally coming out of her shell a little :)</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Tomorrow the Hounds are having a spa day. I
found a mobile groomer that will do all 3 of them. I don't expect any
problems with Holly or Sophie, but Nancy will be a challenge....just to get her
out to the van. I still think this is a better way to go than having to
leave them somewhere. And there is no way that I would be able to get
Nancy to where Holly normally goes. After hearing what they charge this is
a one shot deal. Holly will be back at her regular groomer the next time
:)</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Holly Noelle - I went outside during the
storm</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Sophie - I don't like getting my paws
wet</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Nancy - I don't like storms at all, they scare
me</FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML>
