Oct. 12th is my birthday and also marks the tragic day I lost my little boy Rusty(Bubby). I still have a picture of my beautiful Red and White Basset in my wallet. I treated this dog like my own little boy. I had gone to the Church were I had pastored and they were having me a birthday party when my daughter called and had found him on top of the swimming pool cover drowned in 2ft. of water. Rusty sufferd from terrilbe seizures and was on medication. I thought he was acting strange that morning and started to lock him out of the pool area but decided to let him over there because his house was there. It was so tramatic that it took me awhile to get over it.<BR>
I told someone yesterday who just lost her dog, that the joy of having him was still worth the pain of loosing him. If I had it to do all over I still would do it all over again.<BR>
I have four Bassets now. All four have been given to me. Alex is Rusty's son and getting old himself. He is now about 13. Still gets around pretty good. Daisy Mae, Babs and Abby round out the rest.<BR>
