<DIV>As I was turning my calendar at work today late in the afternoon I realized
that today, October 27th is Abraham's Gotcha Day...I cannot believe that he
entered our hearts two years ago already. I will never forget that
day when his wonderful foster parents, Rich and Karen brought him to us...I had
posted a picture of him on my front storm door at his level which said "
Welcome Abraham". It was a bittersweet day as Karen and Rich became very
very attached to him...Karen was crying most of the day not wanting to give him
up . Abe has taught us many things and has eaten many things..He is the
quintessential counter cruiser and as I call him...."A big piggy". Abe is
a very very large smooshy basset, he measures 57" from the tip of
his nose to the tip of his tail..I have been trying to convince them at the
waddle to include Longest Basset as one of the contests as I know he would win
paws down. He is also a very kind boy welcoming all creatures in our home
for short or long visits. I tend to care for many friend's dogs when
needed and anyone who comes for a visit that wants to bring their dogs are
welcome. His most recent kindness was shown to a feral kitten
who showed up at our front door. Mary Todd Ga-linkin (not feral anymore)
and Abe play every night . It's a riot to watch this huge boy chase her
through the house getting stuck under the bed...but once she comes out he gives
her big sloppy kisses and they sleep together all snuggled up. My
Abrahammy, I love him so. Thank you Suzanne from Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound
Rescue , thank you Karen and Rich for a perfect match and thank you Abraham for
being such a mama's boy....</DIV>
