Pam,<br><br>You are so right... what a great little article (actually, quite long article!). I loved the bit about the bassets being so keen following the scent that the hare gets away - or even doubles back through the pack without being noticed, they're so intent on the scent trail!<br>

I know rescues have been trying for years to weed out adopters--maybe the<br>
test should be that anyone who can read beyond the first paragraph and not<br>
be turned off should be allowed a basset.<br>
