Yesterday was too nice of a day to not go
for a walk with the dogs, so we piled them into the car and drove to the
otherside of the lake to walk on the trail over there. We had so much fun,
but noticed that Jace was limping when we got done. He had walked so much
that he had rubbed some of the skin off his pad.

Jace is the one who does not like to go for a
walk. You can say "lets go for a walk", he's all excited about it, tail
wagging, etc, but if we go 3 houses down, he stops and tried to turn
around. If you make him continue, he will, but stops continually and turns
and looks back. Like he's missing out on something or turning to look at
home. I think sometimes he gets bored with the trail on our side and wants
to try something new. Yesterday he did a few turn arounds, but kept going
like a trooper. We walked for about an hour. Mind you, this is a
slow paced basset walk with him. Sterling, on the other hand, goes like a
bat out of hell. I could walk him as fast as I could possibly go and he'd
still be out in front pulling.
