<DIV>Non-animal just people don't get it. When my now 34 year old daughter was a
baby, I didn't have a basset but always had dogs and cats. When
people said something like that about the baby and animals I always
replied - it would be really hard if I had to give her up but you can
always find a good home for a healthy baby girl. Having my daughter was the best
thing - because of her we discovered bassets. She desperately wanted a basset so
we got her Rosie for her 21st birthday and we were hooked. When she moved
out we kept the dog. We now have Dylan and my daughter wears
a t-shirt with his picture on it that says my brother is a basset
and mom loves him best! </DIV>
