<DIV>OK, we are really stupid here in Utah-- Utah Friends of Basset Hound has never, ever had a heartworm case. We do give all the rescues heartworm pills from April through October, when it freezes and the mosquitos supposedly are all dead. This is per most local vet's protocol. </DIV>
<DIV>We now have our little Misty, who was adopted a few months ago, testing positive for heartworm-- adult heartworm, and we are kind of panicked, as this is not something we have ever dealt with here. I know a lot of you rescues deal with this on a regular basis, but if anyone has any info, advice, suggestions--anything-- we would really appreciate it. Feel free to email me off list, if you want. This is probably pretty routine for a lot of the rescues, but it is a first for us and we are pretty panicked tonight. Thank you. -- Marilyn Briggs</DIV>
