<DIV>I have treated several dogs with very mild positive heartworm tests with
Heartgard, at the advice of my vet.</DIV>
<DIV>It is VERY important to be sure that it is a very light infestation.
The Heartgard kills the microfilaria (baby worms) while they are still too small
to damage the heart as they die. It also keeps the infestation from
becoming worse. However, if it is not a very light case, it can be
dangerous to do this. Therefore, careful testing to be sure you have a
light positive case is extremely important.</DIV>
