I am woefully behind in my drools, but in catching up, I am trying to send personal notes to all in need of drool and heart felt sympathy for any loss. PLEASE forgive me if I have overlooked anyone. There is so much going on here, and I am trying to keep a positive balance.<div><br></div><div>Happy Belated Birthday Cakie. I have had the honor to meet you on several occasions, and you are one SPECIAL gal. </div><div><br></div><div>Finally, today I was at the Vet, and there was a woman who I had met in the past, and she brought in an English Setter that her friend rescued from a NYC shelter, on behalf of rescue, not for personal adoption. Both the woman who rescued the setter and the woman who had him to the Vet were maxed out on personal canine pets or they would have kept him. Were I not maxed out, I would have taken him that moment. He was just one of those dogs who grabs your heart. He was skin and bones, too skinny to neuter, and the age estimate was between 2 and 7. But he was so gentle, so grateful, so polite, so well behaved, so loving. The lady had treats for him, but he would not eat them. Even though he has food available 24/7, he is a picky eater, but walk him past a downed garbage pail, good luck, I am told. I wish I had the roast beef I bought for Jellybean earlier to spoil him with people food. (I get the RB as a pill incentive, not her diet, so please don't think I am doing her diet harm.) In the end, what I realized from that moment is that there are so many of you out there doing exactly as this woman, and I it made me appreciate all over the efforts of all you do to help animals in need. The setter has many potential adopters lined up already, and I was so happy to spend a little time with Quinn.
