Along with Oliver's lymph nodes not going down yet and wondering who was leaking urine (we found out it was Mazzie)--we have another problem. My husband came down this morning to discover that Mazzie is now leaking stool. No, it is not her anal glands. We checked. The vet said this day would come due to her L1 fusion and down. Thank you for the responses on the incontinence, but Mazzie has been treated with proin, herbal remedies, and something starting with a "D" I think. For some reason it just happens to come and go. We've tried the diapers with the incontinence pad. She hates them and tries to figure out how to wiggle out of the diaper. Anyhow, Mazzie's fusion has gotten worse as the years have progressed which has been proven by x-ray. I believe it goes at least to her sacrum. We don't let her go to the 2nd level of the house and such and we lift her in and out of the vehicle. She has been with us for almost 5 1/2 years out of her almost 7 1/2 years. I have to discuss options with my vet. I know she is not surgery eligible already to correct her fusion due the fact that she can walk fine, run, jump, etc. It is too risky in that it could make her paralyzed and make things so that she has no control what so ever. I need to go in to get more pills for Oliver today or tomorrow and I plan to talk about Mazzie with him. I brought home new toys yesterday and she pepped right up and played for awhile so we thought perhaps she was just feeling sick. Mazzie's whole bone structure is deformed including her front legs, ribs, etc. so she has that going against her too in the long run. My husband and I discussed things this morning and agreed to also track everything with her until Friday to see if she makes another change, unless the vet wants to see her sooner. Perhaps I will start a notebook so I can give the vet accurate information without letting my emotions get in the way.<br clear="all">
