<div>Many aren't involved in rescue because they feel this. But they are missing out on the contact with the rescue people and rescuing dogs, that everyone needs. Plus you don't have to be part of the problem to be part of the solution. </div>

<div>The following is not a great analogy because of the content, but it has similar outcomes. If you go to pick up poop and you see the poop of another dog, why not pick it up also? The result of leaving it because it isn't out of your dog is that your dog can end up being penalized as a result. When we do what is right for everyone, then we take a step out of ourselves and benefit all. That is why we all should do both.</div>

<div>My personal belief is that if you can't support rescue in some manner, then you have no place breeding. I was taught this by my mentor Jeannette Turpin and we follow it today. If you have eight dogs, nine doesn't make a big difference and I really believe that most responsible breeder and show people could do this for one rescue dog. If not, they can support the groups financially, even with a small donation.</div>

<div>In our area, the responsible breeder/show people are very separate from the rescue people. Some seem to hold grudges about how the split was made between rescue and the club and "chose sides". Others just kind of ignore the other. Very few participate in the other's events. It is a tragic loss for both, because what ends up happening is that people don't get all the information they need to help the dogs. </div>
