Our beloved Golden Retriever, Zack, that we rescued 10 years
ago, had to be put to sleep Friday night.

Some of you that did the Christmas card exchange might have
seen his picture. He was a beautiful soul that

our family is going to miss terribly. It was a rough
year for our sweet boy. He got skunked, had to have his

tail amputated, tore ligaments in his left knee & then
the other night tore up his right knee. He could no

longer stand & our Vet said there really was nothing
more that she could do. Those are terrible words to hear.

So, we had to make that awful decision. Everybody
tells us it was for the best but, somehow you still have

alot of guilt. I’ve seen that a lot of people
have lost their dogs this year in the Daily Drool, so I know you can sympathize.

Then of course, what about the dog left behind? Lola (our
basset) just walks around room to room & out in the

yard looking for him. Just when you think things
couldn’t be any sadder, you have to witness this. The only funny

thing about that is, she gave Zack heck any chance she
could. And now she’s a lost dog. I know it will take awhile
to

get over this emptiness but, we all do in time.

God speed Zackman. You will be forever in our hearts.
