has been planned for some time....originally our friend and basset lover, Karen
Johnson, was to be the "survivor" to speak. Karen lost her
battle with cancer in December, but the event will go on, albeit with heavy
hearts. Karen worked with the American Cancer Society, so her loss has
hit them hard as well. Monsignor <st1:PersonName w:st="on">Patrick Bishop</st1:PersonName>
will bless the animals, and we look forward to a visit from Karen's beloved
hounds, Cindy Lou and Smudgie with their new family, the Parks. Please
come out and support this cause.</span></font></b></strong><o:p></o:p></p>

your pooch and walk – the canine version of Relay for Life.
It’s a celebration of life & unconditional love and a dog’s
ability to empower us through our relationsips with our pets. By
dedicating an event to our canine companions and the special role they play in
our lives, Bark for Life offers the <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Atlanta</st1:place></st1:City>
community an opportunity to actively engage with the American Cancer Society in
the fight against cancer by raising awareness and needed funds for continued
research, programs, service, education & advocacy. Over 300 dogs are
expected to participate! There will be an opening ceremony, a lap around <st1:place
w:st="on">Piedmont</st1:place>’s Activity Oval (traditionally led by
survivors, both human and canine) and then several hours of canine
entertainment, demonstrations and fundraising opportunities.</span></font><o:p></o:p></p>
