<div style="CLEAR: both">let's see.</div>
<div style="CLEAR: both"> </div>
<div style="CLEAR: both">every weekday, we get up at 7, he goes out, comes in to eat breakfast and dessert and then goes back to bed. i get out of the shower and get dressed. by the time i come out, he has gone into his crate to await the "see you in a few hours" treat as i go out the door.</div>
<div style="CLEAR: both"> </div>
<div style="CLEAR: both">on weekends, the routine is exactly the same, but when i get out of the bathroom, showered and dressed, he's still on the bed, not even thinking of going into the crate. "why would i? it's the weekend and you're not going anywhere." SMART</div>
<div style="CLEAR: both"> </div>
<div style="CLEAR: both">he likes to eat his poop. so i have to follow him with a pickup bag around the back yard. lately, his new trick is, poop 1/2 way, and as i go to scoop the poop, move away from me and finish the poop that i'm not fast enough to scoop, thereby giving him half a treat. SMART</div>
<div style="CLEAR: both"> </div>
<div style="CLEAR: both">i have never given him people food (except when he had his dental cleaning, i gave him some soft cheese). therefore, as i prepare food for myself he is right next to me, but the minute i sit down with the plate in front of me, he literallly walks away (as if to say, "of, she's eating that poison again." DUMB (but i'm grateful he's not a beggar)</div>
<div style="CLEAR: both"> </div>
<div style="CLEAR: both">and this amazes me. he loves to ride in the car. he jumps in and loves every minute of it. hits the big dog pillow i have back there and snores away. BUT when i'm getting to where i'm headed, he is awake and in the front seat next to me (he wouldn't think of letting me out of the car without him).</div>
<div style="CLEAR: both">how does he know the ride is ending? sound of the engine, speed of the car? who knows. SMART</div>
<div style="CLEAR: both"> </div>
<div style="CLEAR: both">i'm at work and those are a few quick examples i can think of, but i say they are as smart as they want to be perceived and as dumb as they want to be perceived.</div>
