At our house, the sign "Caution!  Don't trip over the guard
dog" is more like it.  They do bark and created general havock
if anyone comes around, but if a robbler actually entered the hosue I am
certain they would sit him down, make him a cup of tea, and show him the
silver!  Besides.  Let's be honest.  Bassets do not look
