Yesterday I ended up taking Colt to see the
vetman. They love Dr. B and his staff. Anyhoo, Colt's undercarriage was
all broke out, still x7 days now, despite all of the benadryl tablets, washing
the belly after being outside and the Gold Bond Cream that I have been treating
him and Ruger with. All of this stuff managed Ruger's contact dermititis
very well but not Colt's. Colt was broke out on every inch of his underside from
nose to butt, including his rump. He was one misserable hound, and the
benadyle was spacing him out bad. So yesterday we went to the vet for the
big guns, Doc gave him a shot for the inflammation, cephalexin (antibiotic) for
infection, Temaril-P (anti-histamine) and a anti-itch spray. Doc
& I think that there is something in or near my back yard that is
pollenating at this time of year that the boys are allergic to, especially since
we had the same thing happen last year, other than it was Ruger that was in the
worst shape at that time. Today Colt's underside looks so much better, but the
cephalexin and/or the anti-histamine is giving him gas, and boy does it
smell like sulfer. Whooo doggie, I believe that his gas bombs could
compete with Elder Clara.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful
weekend. The boyz and I are hiding in the house because the heat and
humidity are insane today. The weather man has a heat advisor out today
from noon until 7pm. Hounds have only been allowed out twice today for 15
minutes or less each time, to do thier business. Then it is momma getting
busy with wiping done the paws, butts and bellys to wipe off any alleren that
might be attaching to them.
