that birds are our secret allies. Mockingbird stood on the fence
facing evil grey squirrel. Evil stood firm. Squirrel
vocalizes and uses finest fly rod tail wagging. Makes me
crazy. </FONT><FONT color=#740900 face="Trebuchet MS">Mocker jumps up
and down and screams vile epithets, insulting every squirrel
in Squirrelistan. </FONT><FONT color=#740900
face="Trebuchet MS">Basset flattens. Stealth mode.
Perfect Bassetude. </FONT><FONT color=#740900
face="Trebuchet MS">Squirrel moves down the fence line. Mocker moves
closer with vigorous screaming and vertical leaps. Squirrel turns to
face the insult. Mocker jumps and plunges at Squirrel. Squirrel
backs down. Mocker leaps and attacks twice more, making clear
contact. Squirrel moves to the side of the fence, either to shield self or
because startled. Given body posture, I vote
startled. </FONT><FONT color=#740900 face="Trebuchet MS">Squirrel
stops and stands ground. Mocker attacks with vertical leap and
plunge. Squirrel leaps off fence line and runs. Mocker ascends
to key height on bush. No more squirrels. </FONT><FONT
color=#740900 face="Trebuchet MS">Basset returns to patrol. No bird.
No Squirrel. Time for a nap. </FONT>Mockingbird
