<DIV>Some advice needed. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We lost Wyatt in October 2008 to cancer, and since then Clover has been doing find as an only dog. Clover is now 13 1/2 and is now def, but still capable of 3 miles hikes on cool days. While she loves to meet and greet other dogs, she obviously has no use for this puppy. The puppy wants to snuggle with her, chase her, bite her ears and she'll have nothing of it. She doesn't attack, just barks in his face and takes off... she takes all treats and toys available and burries them in the back yard. She gives me this look like "What have your brought home this time."</DIV>
<DIV>Will this work itself out over time? Clover is my priority and I'm starting to think that another dog may have been a mistake. It's much easier to take one dog and 2 kids with you than 2 dogs and any children! It won't be fun balancing my senior dog and the needs of a puppy.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>While I still plan on doing rescue/fosters, especially of senior dogs. I just adopted a Basset Puppy, as my kids are really into the idea of a puppy.
<DIV>The dog I adopted wasn't from the best breeder, but I won't get into the details other than he's just over 6 weeks old and he's HUGE. The largest 6 week old basset I've ever seen. Apparently,he was the only dog in the litter, but neither parents were as large is my Clover. So my other question is: Is it normal to have a basset puppy this large? He's easly as large as clover was at 9 weeks, and she ended up nearly 70lbs. </DIV></DIV></BODY></html>
