<div>Anytime you are in a situation where you need to introduce a dog to a new device, whether it is a collar, muzzle, ecollar, head halter, socks, booties, etc., the best way to do it is as follows: (Note: Keep in mind this process can be one day, or two weeks, depending on the dog. If at any time the dog balks, back up to a previous step and then keep going.)</div>

<div>1. Make up a bag of little yummy treats, such as chicken, hotdogs, cheese or Natural Balance log. Each piece should be about 1/4 inch square at most.</div>

<div>2. Show them the new item, and treat, 5 times.</div>

<div>3. Approach them with the new item, and treat, 5 times.</div>

<div>4. Touch their body with the new item, and treat, 5 times.</div>

<div>5. Touch their head or effected body part with the item, and treat, 5 times.</div>

<div>6. With head devices, hold the treat so they must stick their head into the device, and treat, 5 times.</div>

<div>7. With socks or booties, put them on loosely on one foot only, take off and treat 5 times.</div>

<div>9. Hold the head device and see if they will slam their head into it for a treat, and treat, 5 times.</div>

<div>10. Hook the head device and then unhook and treat, 5 times.</div>

<div>11. Leave the head device on for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 seconds progressively and treat, until you get to ten pretty solid.</div>

<div>12. Randomize seconds over 10 up to 3 minutes, with rewards such as 3 seconds, 12 seconds, 6 seconds, 19 seconds, 5 seconds, 15 seconds, and work your way up to three minutes.</div>

<div>13. You should be now good to reinforce with treats as distraction for movement now until they are normalized with the item.</div>
