We have had one heck of a time controlling them this summer.  I am religious about advantix for everyone but I could not get the fleas under control.  Everyone was itching, scratching and biting.  We found out our behind the fence neighbours have a FLEA INFESTATION.  I had to bring out the big guns.  In consultation with our vet, we added comfortis to the mix.  They are treated monthly with advantix and comfortis, 2 weeks apart.  Everyone got a bath 24 hours after the comfortis, all bedding was washed in hot water with bleach.  I BOMBED my family room (where the dogs hang).  We moved during the month of July and I told my pest control people to saturate the back yard (of the old house).  He said the fleas were swarming at the back fence line. <br>
<br>The key is constant vigilance.   I got lazy on washing the bedding and I think that is how the fleas were able to set up- that and my neighbours who chose NOT to follow the pest control people's recommendation for getting rid of the fleas.<br>
