<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face=verdana,sans-serif>Bad breath in a dog can
indicate another problem, like kidney disease, liver disease, tonsilitis or
lip fold pyoderma. Lip fold pyoderma is a bacterial infection of the area
around the mouth and chin, in the folds of flesh, and is caused by the
continual drooling. Where it is warm and wet all the time, is the perfect spot
for bacteria to collect and BOYDOESITSTINK!!!!! It comes to you like bad
breath but in fact the smell is from around the mouth. I once had a dog
anesthetized and ready for a dental when the Vet discovered the infection
around the lips. </FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face=verdana,sans-serif>The cure, if that is what it
is,is to get anti-biotics from the Vet, and then clean the area with something
like Pyoben Gel (from your Vet) or Oxy-10 acne pads 2 or 3 times a day, ve-ry
gent-ly. Blot the mouth dry after drinking. But before you start trying to
cure the smell with brushing, be sure it's the teeth that need
treating.</FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face=verdana,sans-serif>I would make aquickie trip to
the Vet - have the dog's anals done and have the Vet check the dog's breath.
It would be too bad to brush his teeth when it turns out that he
has kidney problems.</FONT></FONT></DIV>
