<DIV>Yesterday was my 7th birthday and nobody remembered but Dogster. On
top of that I got my toenails cut and Max, my big brother, went to the Rainbow
Bridge unexpectedly; poor me! I started my special day normally and I had
heard Mom talk about it being my birthday soon a couple weeks ago so who would
have thought no one would remember. At nap time Max and I went out in the
yard because it was a beautiful day (for my birthday) and Max was panting like
he was hot. Max is a Great Pyrenees (101/2 years old) and his summer hair
cut was growing out so the house was too warm. Mom saw him laying under
her bedroom window in the cool shaded grass when she went for her nap.
When she got up a couple hours later she went to check on us and found Max had
left for the Rainbow Bridge without letting her know he was going. She was
very upset and went to get Dad; they both had water running out of their
eyes. The neighbor came with a big machine and dug a big hole in the front
yard (Max weighted 120 lbs.) where Max liked to lay and guard us. </DIV>
<DIV>Bea, who is a monster basset, was real quiet for a change without Max there
to bark at. Max was our every-morning howl leader so we didn’t have a howl
this morning like usual. Mom didn’t realize it was my birthday until she
checked her emails late last night but everyone was so sad. My Dad made us
a breakfast pizza this morning to celebrate my birthday but it didn’t taste as
good as usual. I hope next year my birthday is happier!</DIV>
