<p>Basset Rescue of Montana has been rescuing and rehoming Basset Hounds for over 15 years. We love our bassets, and do our very best to find them the perfect family and perfect home. Hounds are smart, independent, gentle and loving dogs, but they are not suited for everyone or every family situation. </p>
<p>Most people try to research dog breeds on the internet before adopting, which is a wise thing to do, but a lot of the information available in books and online web sites is not very accurate, especially the information about basset hounds. Many, if not most of our rescue dogs have ended up in rescue because owners fell in love with big sad eyes and beautiful long ears, and later learned that a basset’s temperament, activity level and routine care requirements are not what they expected. </p>
<p>Our basset hound books are meant to remedy this lack of accurate information. In “Forever Home” we tell you the bad things about the breed as well as the good things, and also give you information on common health problems as well as training issues. We have also included short little stories and tales that were contributed by basset owners, so that you can get a feel for the personality of bassets and what to expect after you bring your dog home. Once you have read our basset hound books you will have enough accurate information to be able to decide if this is the breed for you and your family.</p>
