<DIV>I'd like to announce the addition of Sally and Schroeder to our herd
here. Both 10 yrs old. Made a trip east on Tuesday to meet Carmen to
bring these loves home. Sally is blind but adjusting well and learning the
area. She can find the doggie door from inside but not from outside so she
barks a lovely, deep bark to let me know she's ready to come in. Schroeder
doesn't bark, he ahroos, deeply and long. So funny. He figured out
the doggie door quickly. Carmen brought Kelvin along for the ride so I got
to love on this sweet hound. He is doing well for the moment and I was
thrilled to meet him and see him smiling and wanting attention. She, also,
added some jams for us in the goody bag she brought with them.
Yummy! Now we have 7 senior bassets, a young bassador, a senior Papillon,
and two young terrier mixes. My vet calls our place the old dog home and
helps us keep them healthy and happy for as long as possible. I read The
Drool daily, vote for the rescues and donate when I can. Sure nice to have
this group of folks and their hounds who understand how we wound up with 11 dogs
and can't turn down a needy pooch. Happy holidays to all!</DIV>
