<DIV><BR><<I read The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell and in the last chapter she talks about that dog <BR>that is your soul mate (we call heart dog alot on here) and that is Flash.? I feel like I barely had to train him.? When I spoke or looked at him he knew what I meant.? >></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Belvedere is my heart dog, and I only wish I had barely had to train him! Since we got him, he's always had serious pottying problems. Now I think it had to do with the arthritis in his back, which seems to interfere with some of the nerves that go on with the bladder. But putting that aside, he still isn't the perfectly behaved dog. He hates coming in the house after he's been out to do his business, and recently getting him up the ramp has been a real chore, made even worse by his arthritis issues.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>But he's also a very sweet dog who lets me do just about anything to him--except do his nails--and he absolutely adores me. From his very first sight of me, I think he knew I would never give up on him and send him to a new home. We are bonded at the heart.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Maybe someday I will get that almost perfect dog--or hey, maybe I already have him and just don't realize it! After all, with all the good things he does, what are these minor problems in comparison?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>THE OTHER END OF THE LEASH is a wonderful book--it should be required reading for dog owners, since it shows humans how they think differently from dogs. It's not your typical training book, but it would help a lot for people who are trying to train a dog and seem to be struggling.</DIV>
