<DIV>I do love reading the Daily Drool. You folks have been so helpful to
me in the past. Now I want to pass on some helpful information. We
have two beautiful dog/children. Our old girl, Ivy Rose, is a 14 yrs old
Golden Retriever and a 2 yr. cancer survivor. She has suffered with
strokes in the past year or so. The hind quarters are giving out and many
times she cannot get up from a lying or seated position. I was having a
lot of trouble trying to lift her and decided there had to be a better way and
there is!!! I found the Web Master Harness by Ruffwear. Campmor has
the best price. Even with shipping it totaled $41.96 and arrived within
days. I first tried it on Rudy our 10 yr old Basset. He is the one
you folks helped me with a few years back when he had back trouble. I joke
that this harness makes them into a suitcase. It is fantastic!!
There are 5 areas of adjustment for the perfect fit. It looks like a small
saddle. There are reflective strips and lots of comfortable padding.
Ivy has been wearing it night and day for over a week now. It is so easy
to assist her when needed. Getting her up and using stairs only requires
one hand and almost no effort due to the design. She has fallen outside in
the snow and ice and this makes getting her on her feet easy! Ivy seems to
feel better about our help now. Before the harness she would look so
sheepish when we had to lift her. We know she is not going to live a lot
longer but this is making things so much more comfortable for all of us.
Because of Rudy's back problems this is going to be ready for him as
needed. Rudy was adopted and I think abused by his young family. He
gets very snarky when we try to lift him or help him into the car. I
suspect they dropped him at some time. With the easy grip low profile
handle on the top of this harness we can assist him without the attitude!
Campmor only offered this in black but it is very stylish. It does come in
red from other companies but costs $9+ more. I really can't say enough
about this harness. It is awesome. Hope this helps someone
else. Our two are offering drool to all who need it. </DIV>
