Today, we took Abby (basset/springer mix) to the vet for a limp and hoarse bark. We got bad, bad news. She has two large nodules in her neck pressing on her chords causing the hoarse bark. Our vet did a chest x-ray and she has numerous nodules in her lungs. He suspects the limp is also due to bone mets but we opted not to do another x-ray, the lungs were bad enough. She has been sent home for palliative care. She had a complete work up in November during her yearly exam and everything was fine. The limp and hoarse bark came up within the past week. <div>
<br></div><div>I am very sad. I am still not over the loss of Lucy (almost two years ago) due to hemangiosarcoma. The thought of providing palliative care again is almost unbearable. Of course I will. I will also help her to the bridge when her time comes because it will be my last gift to her. Being a loving pet owner sometimes sucks.</div>
