<DIV><BR>Recently I posted this question to the blinddogs Web site because Belvedere is pretty much blind from corneal endothelial degneration and I thought it might be related to that. So far I have not gotten many answers there, so I thought I would see what wisdom the Drool has on the subject.I 'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what could cause this and how we could stop it.</DIV>

<DIV>Generally, Bel and Abner live pretty much at peace, though they both consider me their person and can get jealous over that. The odd turf tiff happens if someone invades on someone else's space, nothing more. But recently their relationship has hit a snag. Never during the day, but at nighttime, when Bel walks past Abner as he's resting on one of the beds in our living room, Abner will attack him. Usually it's just a barkfest, but a time or two Abs has gotten Bel's ear and drawn blood. So I don't want this escalating.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Bel is simply walking past, paying no attention to Abner when it happens. It's completely unprovoked, and I am usually at least a couple of feet from the bed Abner is in. Abner just does not seem to like having Bel a foot to a foot and a half away from him and goes on the defense. Our living room is pretty well filled up with two large dog beds and furniture, so I can't do much to make more space between them.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Belvedere holds the #2 spot in our pack, and Abner usually defers to him--if he doesn't, Bel reminds him and it usually ends. But this situation has been going on for some time and nothing seems to permanently defuse it. At least a couple of times each night I have to intervene, and Abner backs down.</DIV>

<DIV>Is there some way to bring peace to the Dashing Bassets again?</DIV>
