<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" ><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;"><DIV>Gus Gus suddenly began standing at the back door and ahroooooooooooooing! He does it every evening and has been for several days. The other bassets just ignore him, but it is the most heart touching thing, his sad howling, head thrown back. The neighbors have all come to the fence to watch him. He'll do it for about 15 to 20 minutes and then back to his playful self. Augustus has never howled - I am assuming he is ahrooing in tribute to all the hounds who have gone on to wait for us at the bridge. He isn't even interested in the cows at the back fence and only wants to come in for his stuffed kitty. Captain Gus, Tuffy and Peach all send healing drool to those in need.</DIV>

<DIV>I was thinking my heart dog would have to be Tuffy - I rescued her at 7 months after 4 different homes didn't want her because they couldn't breed her. Her ears aren't the longest, she isn't as wrinkly and poor baby originally came from a pet store. But she is my baby, she walks with mama and sits under my feet all evening.</DIV>
