Many years ago- 9ish I am sure, our sweet Eyson (atb) proved that bassets DO have opposable thumbs. They are retractable.<div><br></div><div>I came from getting groceries and set the grocery bag with canned cat food by the front door. I left it there unattended because I thought that being canned (with the pop top lids) it was safe from bassets. Wrong, wrong, wrong.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I finished putting up fridge and cupboard food and went back for the cat food. OMG! The cans were scattered everywhere and the smell in the room was awful. Eyson had pulled two cans out, some sort of fish medley by the smell, and pushed the tops down to get at the food. Both cans were licked clean. She had no cuts on her snout, lips or tongue. Do this day I have no real idea how she did it, just that she did.<br clear="all">
