Thanks so much for your very helpful comments, Dawn! My puppy Winston had some human-directed aggression that we successfully dealt with by hiring a private trainer who came to our house and taught us all some great exercises.

<div>In the past, Winston decompensated (bit someone) at a puppy party and now several months later we are going to give it another try. Knowing Winston as I do now, I think he gets more easily overwhelmed (and subsequently anxious) than the average dog. So this time I am bringing his sister along for company, along with his own crate and toys, and plan to give him access to his crate all the time as well as some time outs every so often. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks again.</div>
