<DIV>It has been a few years since I've posted -- not since my beloved Loopy had serious health issues (and you all saved the day by helping me find the right specialist -- Loopy lived another 4+ years because of your help).</DIV>

<DIV>Well, yucky disaster strikes again. We have a new basset puppy, Mickey, and of course, she tested positive for Giardia. She's gone through the 5 days of treatment, but still has running poop (which the vet tells me could be a side effect of the treatment and that we need to wait a week or two to re-test her). I'm giving her canned pumpikin and a scoop of yogurt to try to re-regulate things. In the meantime, I'm a little freaked out about the sterilization of our house, yard, toddler, dog beds, ect. I read on the web that basic cleaning products don't doa good job killing the parasites. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how worried I should be about everyone else getting infected/the dog re-infecting herself. Our toddler and the puppy are inseparable (as in I had to fish the puppy out of the bath tub just yesterday), so keeping them apart until we know for certain that the dog is free and clear
isn't a great option.</DIV>

<DIV>Any advice is much appreciated.</DIV>
