<div>With only 2 bassets, I've been able to keep the poop down to about 5 plastic bags per week, which I put in landfill garbage.  If your soil is less claylike, it works to make a hole in a discreet place and drop one week's poop there, then repeat. It shouldn't be near a place where you're growing edible crops.  Poop breaks down fairly quickly and is very high in Nitrogen,  I just put it behind shrubs close to the fence. </div>
