<DIV>I have learned about your big and generous hearts up close. I
want to tell you a little bit about gratitude and how Thankful we are
for the goodwill and helping hands. People gave us donations. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>If it had not happened to us I never would have BELIEVED
it...this HELP we received. I will never forget you who After The Fire
last May...coming out of the night and BEING THERE! and a song could never
be so sweet and beautiful as when Bron sang 'You've Got A
Friend" </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> Old friends, neighbors, people from the DD who we did not even know
arrived on the scene to help!! They figured it all out where all the dogs
could go and be safe! </DIV>
<DIV>The Beautiful faces of friends seemed to just APPEAR in the night! It
was amazing! I did not expect them to come but they did! What kind good
friends! Almost all our animal friends survived and that night of our house
fire even though all we had left was our car and the clothes we had
on our back and ..AND two boxes of "stuff" a bassettty throw blanket, some useful
items like soap, toothbrush, deodorant, towels...and...AND the Red cross put us
up for two nights at a motel. All our wonderful friends took in ALL THE RESCUE
DOGS LEFT...OUR DOGS THAT WERE SAFE AND SOUND.</DIV>
<DIV>Funny thing even though we had lost everything and the night was
cold...riding up the road to the motel in a daze I never felt so
comforted. Love is all around.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The kindness of good friends and of Basset loving good hearted people have
given us so much. We are so grateful and will try out best to continue on
and do right by our friends and this breed of hound that we all love.
How could we ever THANK YOU?! Someday we will be able to help out and give back.
I always knew that people could be so wonderful..in knowing people who help with
rescue you learn about how important what might seem like a 'little thing' is..a
phone call with the latest ornery thing or funny thing or just acall to say how
the rescues are doing in their new forever home...it is the "little things' that
make the world such a fine place. Well the night of our house fire we were are
still being helped and shown friendship.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>There was a band of DD'ers who all must have talked together and
they sent cheery up gifts, cards and boxes with presents of cheer and
useful gifts, boxes turned up again and again and we were even sent
gift cards! DD'ers are AMAZEING PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>In our new rebuilt house...So far not one doorway is chewed (yet we
know it could happen...lol) we've already got nose and slobber
marks... lots Bassets everywhere again. It is heaven.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>It is heaven and you are the angels.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We are blessed to be part of this big family on the DD.</DIV>
