<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I guess it's time for a Snoopy update. His 5 month gotcha day is coming up next week. He has actually settled very well, in 5 months he has not bit nor fought nor chewed nor dug. He has had fewer than half a dozen potty accidents, and he's a really snuggly basset. We love our Snoopy. But he can be really weird ....</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>On Monday he decided he didn't want Cyrus in the house. At all. He kept chasing him out. Barking, growling, even menacing. Well Cyrus is real laid back so he just went outside every time Snoopy chased him and wouldn't come back in (after a while) until I made him. Finally after dinner my husband and my kids were yelling at me for yelling at Snoopy to quit it and my DH told me to let them work it out. Which was hard, but neither dog bites so I did. Snoopy chased Cyrus into the entry way barking and growling and cornered him and Cyrus was barking and yelling back and they were both so upset they were foaming at the mouth ... it was horrible. Then they stopped yelling ... and went to separate rooms. On Tuesday when I came home from work Cyrus was outside and I just went outside with him and Snoopy came out and tried to push Cyrus away from me and we both told him GO LAY DOWN.
And then on Wednesday he was sweet and cuddly and kissing Cyrus and laying down with him and playing with him and sweet and nice and didn't yell at him once all day. What the heck??? Does he love Cyrus or does he hate him or does it just depend on the day?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>And then yesterday ... even weirder. The dogs are getting along perfectly like they've been best friends all their lives and I sat down on the couch and Snoopy jumped up there next to me and snuggled. Which is fine except ... I've tried EVERYTHING to get Snoopy up on furniture. We've bought ramps and we've bought stairs and the only thing that works is the basset lift but he's HEAVY and he's ALWAYS insisted he can't do it (for 5 months now) and he's NEVER EVER done it and then yesterday afternoon he lept up there in one move like it was old news and laid down. Seriously!! What the heck??</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>My girls reminded me that when Snoopy came to us within a few days he went lame on his right front foot. We found a fungus infection in the foot and got it cleared up and then he could walk on it but then he developed a different problem when he work up where he couldn't put his left rear foot down for a few minutes and he'd hobble around on 3 legs. He quit that a few months ago. so the girls think maybe he's been nursing injuries and is all better now? Who knows.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Your kinda odd there Snoopy, but we love you no matter what you do.</DIV>
