Despite brain-boiling heat, close to 200 people showed up to Nashville's Centennial Park on June 4 with about 75 to 100 dogs. It was the largest turnout ever for the event which is now in its third year.

We ate hot dogs, listened to live music by the Americana duo Smoke and Flowers, auctioned off 75 to 100 items, sold t-shirts and watched basset hounds compete in the Longest Ear Contest, Shortest Legs Contest, and the Hot Dog Catching Contest. We made close to $4,000 for the hounds, and we made the local TV news.
