<DIV>Oh My</DIV>
<DIV>I can not believe how much I have been involved in stuff since Saturday. </DIV>
<DIV>Saturday we had our big fund raiser for BRoPS. It was a ball 40+ bassets plus a few wanna be's off leash begging for their own picnic plate of goodies from the humans hanging around socializing. 3 hrs of fun, games, food and me committing myself to a 8yr old basset boy named Jake, lead to pizza, pasta and beer for the exhausted ring leaders later that night. Sunday I attended a bridal shower left that to pick up a beautiful basset boy and deliver him to his foster mom. Monday I didn't have to be at work till 12:00 so I was taking my time getting my salon books, rescue deposit and my own personal. I got a call from Alexa saying we need to get a check to our vet so we could get some special tests done on a 6yr old sweet boy we have that is having mystery health problems. So off I went got the check to the vet then off to work. Tallulah had spent the night at Auntie Joni's so when I got off I headed to her house.
On my way to her house I came upon what I thought at first was opossum but as I got closer is was a dog crossing a busy road very slowly. I came to a halt jumped out of the car called to this small dog and it came right to me. It smelled horrible and the coat was matted. Tried calling Alexa no answer so I headed to Joni's. When I got there I showed Joni, grabbed the clippers and headed toward Alexa's. Joni kept calling till she answered so she was prepared when I got there. We worked on this poor pup for over 1hr 30min. It was so matted it had soars, pooh was so caked on it bumm it was red and raw. Benign basset people working on a small longhair dog was very strange. but we did uncover a shitzu. As far as we could tell it was a girl so I named her Miss Brier Rose (found her on Brier Road). Today I took her to a vet because I saw something in her pooh. Pooh came out clean but the base of the tail is
infected so the vet started to shave some of the hair we had not gotten off to expose all of the infection. We found infection and maggots pretty gross but they are all gone we have medicine for that plus eye ointment because the left eye has been injured at sometime. Then I took her to the groomer to finish dematting. I was working but two of my girls went over to the groomer (we are in the same shopping center) to see Brier. Well they came back with surprise "ITS A BOY" they took pictures, the tummy was so matted and he doesn't hike a leg to pee we thought he was a girl. So Miss Brier is now Mr Brier. He is hanging at Alexa's and he blends right in. The bassets (8 total) could care less. Brier gets the raised bed in the living room and loves to hang out in the computer room and wants to sleep on the bed, he also walks through the house like he owns it. I think BRoPS now has a shitzu mascot. I will call the eye specialist
tomorrow (he is a client of mine) and see what he can do for his eye. He is a mess but he has not protested about one thing that has been done to him. Today after all the icky was off of him and Alexa brought him by the salon you could see he felt better. He is a sweety. If I could find this poor guys owner I want to "GO Marlene" on him or worse.</DIV>
<DIV>I'm looking forward to after the 4th when I will add my new man Jake to my family.</DIV>
