<DIV>OK. So the vet called today. We got the great news on Friday
that the tumor on his spleen was fibrous and fatty. However, his blood
came back with several abnormalities. He had a low white cell count and a
low platelet count. The platelets were also “clumping in an odd
manner”. We are going in on Wednesday for another blood draw to see if the
results from the first one were accurate and there was no lab error. When
I asked him what would be causing the blood issues he said he is looking at
reasons why the spleen may be destoying or sequestering the platelets. He
mentioned “autoimmune disease”, “thrombocytopenia” and tick bourne
disease. He did say cancer is not ruled totally out but is low on his
list. </DIV>
<DIV>SO apparently we are no out of the woods yet. I was so relieved that
the mass wasn’t hemangiosarcoma that I put out of my head that there could be
other serious issues. Sigh. Does anyone have experience with any of
the issues he mentioned? </DIV>

<DIV>Thanks to you all for listening and being such a great source of
support!!!</DIV>
