<DIV>Beverly, just a note of encouragement. I am so glad you are going to
try the wheels for Nigel. I have had three different Bassets who had to
use the wheeled cart--and all of them did well. The first one was my
foundation bitch who had a back injury at age 3, and had surgery. She
recovered completely, and was able to go back in the show ring. However,
at age 12, she went down in her rear, and we faced the difficult choice of
euthanasia or putting her back on wheels--of course, the wheels won. She
used her wheels for almost three years before she finally dies of completely
unrelated problems. She was somewhat incontinent for the last several
months, but had no pain and was happy.</DIV>

<DIV>The other two used the wheels for a couple of months and recovered the use
of their back legs. One of these had absolutely no feeling for the first
month.</DIV>

<DIV>Also had two friends who borrowed our wheels for their dogs--both are doing
well. One recovered completely, and the other, who is twelve, still uses
them occasionally.</DIV>
