<div><font size="4">I guess I'll ad my two cents to the whole chocolate thread....</font></div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4">We are now on our second batch of basset hounds, Sophie and Gus.</font></div>
<div><font size="4">My first batch went to the bridge one by one many years ago. I knew NOTHING about basset hounds, just that I wanted one, and ended up with three.</font></div>
<div><font size="4">Yup mistress of overkill....</font></div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4">Thank you DD for making me a more informed mommy. </font></div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4">But back in the day with the first crew - I had no idea I was dealing with dogs that lived by the end of their nose.</font></div>
<div><font size="4">My son was very young, and I had just started making my "crack" aka fudge during this year. </font></div>
<div><font size="4">By holiday time I guess I had gotten pretty good, and people started requesting fudge instead of nicknack's to gather dust, or more junk stored in closets to be regifted at a later date.</font></div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4">Ok by me ~ fudge ye want ~ fudge ye shall receive.</font></div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4">I've always liked nice presentation on things - so all fudge pieces were cut in about one inch squares and wrapped in handi wrap - from there put in a cardboard box - and from there wrapped in festive Christmas wrap - AND PUT UNDER THE TREE!?!</font></div>
<div><font size="4">I know now I may as well have just left it under the tree on a silver platter. </font></div>
<div> </div>
<div><font size="4">I don't know who got what - but you can guess the rest.</font></div>
<div> </div>
<div><font size="4">To ad insult to injury, I had non-glass ornaments on the tree. Like I said my son was small - so it was decorated with candy canes (a lot of them) and aluminium ornaments.</font></div>
<div><font size="4">(My husband told me this story about when my brother in law was young he tried to EAT a GLASS ornament!?! And being my son is related to "those" people, thought it better safe than sorry.)</font></div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4">And as an encore - the hounds rushed the tree I found it laying on it's side - candy canes MIA.</font></div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
<div><font size="4">We came home to all of this - but the dogs acted as nothing out of the ordinary had happened. They were each on their couch snoozing away.</font></div>
<div><font size="4">I don't know what happened later on their walk, dp does the walks, and didn't even think to ask. </font></div>
<div> </div>
<div><font size="4">All the dogs lived to ripe old ages in spite of it all, but did learn these dogs can sniff out things......</font> </div>
<div><font size="4"></font> </div>
