He went in to the vet to lance his abscess and when the vet cut into him, he found that it was not an abscess, but a tumor or cyst of some sort. He had a hard time stopping the bleeding, and for a little while the DH and I thought we were going to have to put him down. The vet was able to stop the bleeding and when Oz was awake and able to go, we took him to a specialist and set up an appointment for a CT scan the next morning (this morning). We had him stay the night last night there so he wouldn’t accidentally bump his swollen sore face or get bumped into by the other dogs causing the face to start bleeding again. The results of the CT scan showed that he has a tumor which has gone through the bone in his face and is in his nasal cavities. They don’t know for sure if it’s malignant yet, but this type of tumor often is. We’ll find out the results from the biopsy and make a plan of attack on Monday. Both the DH and I have to work in the evenings, so by the time Oz came down from his anesthesia today we were already at work, so he’ll be staying again tonight at the specialist vets and then getting completely spoiled tomorrow all day long. He’s totally getting a hamburger for breakfast. I’m not sure exactly what’s going to happen with Oz’s future, but if you could spare some more drool for this poor old guy, it’d be great.
