<div>Sorry this is so long, but I could really use some insight. I posted about something very similar almost a year ago - Flo walked by Liz while she was sleeping and Liz, unprovoked, just ripped into her. I got alot of good advice at that time, with several telling me I should re-home Liz. She had come to us from a rescue about a year before that, and at that point I wasn't ready to be the next person that turned my back on her. We worked on some of the suggestions to make things better and keep her. I thought things were going well, but we have recently become aware that Liz is apparently terrorizing Flo when we leave the house. Flo's ears have been having puncture wounds in them. We weren't sure what was going on, doggie day care, playing too rough with Liz and Gabe? Twice in recent weeks, I was heading out to work and had to come back in for something after I had backed out. Heard terrible commotion - dogs kind of screaming, but when I came in they were all separate and just looking at me wagging their tails. Then yesterday morning, my husband and I were leaving. I started the car, but before he got in, we again heard this awful screaming commotion from inside the house. He ran and opened the door and Liz had Flo down in a corner just ripping her a new one - her ear was bloody and had several puncture wounds and she had a little blood on her side. Explains Flo's ears. </div>

<div>I am completely baffled. Now that we are looking at it, Flo has been becoming more and more withdrawn. Liz doesn't ever even attempt any behaviour like that when we are home anymore. I don't know if it involves the topic that was recently discussed on the drool about some dogs just getting this vacant look in their eyes and going nuts. I don't think that is it, because it is apparently only when we leave and only involves Flo. The three of them go to doggie daycare once a week and the owners just rave about Liz and how she is one of their favorite dogs that comes to day care. I don't even think they believe me when I tell them how she has been with Flo at home.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Could it really be that she hates Flo in particular and gets along fine with other dogs? Is she really smart enough to know that once we leave and she hears the car start, she knows she can get away with being mean to Flo? We don't hear such commotion when we simply go outside in the yard, etc. It is just heartbreaking to think of rehoming Liz, but we have certainly given the situation plenty of time. We will have had her for two years this coming March so we didn't simply give up on her after a couple of weeks. But I feel like we can't allow this to continue for Flo's sake. I feel so bad for her. It must be like the little child that dreads going to school everyday because of the bully on the playground. <br>
