Here is a christmas thought for all of my drool
family. If you are like me and really don't need anything for
christmas...at least nothing that I am going to ask my family to buy for me
because it is either to expensive or is a personal item like clothes, underware,
etc. So here's my thought: When your family ask you what you want for
christmas tell them to donate whatever money they would have spent on a present
for you to either your or their favorite basset hound rescue. Or if they insist
on buying, wrapping and having something under the tree for you, then buy it
from a basset rescue. Make it easy for them and give them a list
of items and the website that they can be found at. I did this last
year and for straight up donations I probably got $300-400 for rescue.
(money was split between a couple different rescues) Plus about 75% of the
gifts that I gave out to family was bought from basset rescue stores (calendars,
pot holders, tea towels)...and half of the under the tree gifts that I revieved
was bought from one rescue or another (garden flag, bar sign, basset security
sign etc). So all in all I would guess that proably at least $600 or more
made it to homeless hounds. I plan on doing the same thing this
year! So
