<DIV>Oh BOY,</DIV>
<DIV>when I tell this story you guys will really think I have rocks for
brains, but my hubby ( aka sweet cheeks ) and I owned a
miniature Dachshund for almost 17 years and she use to sleep with us, for
16 out of the 17 years, but as she aged she had accidents and
couldn't get up on the bed easily so being the excellent parents that we
are, the first thing we did at age 14 was cut the legs off the bed
! yes we did, hubby took the bed apart and we cut the legs off the bed,
which was great for her, but damn it was a long way down to the mattress,
but we over came and adjusted ! Fergie learned real fast not to run under the
bed anymore, as there was NO MORE under the bed ! so when she turned
16 she was having a hard time jumping up on the bed with no legs,
sooooooooooo we did away with the bed frame and we slept on the
floor on the mattress ! the Bassets of course had no problem
jumping on the " trampoline " and our Dachshund who owned her mommy
and daddy ruled the roost and that was her bed and her teeth barred and
jaws a snapping until the Bassets left the room. Go to Meijers and you can
buy a water proof mattress cover . you might as well give up trying to teach a
Basset that they can no longer do what they have spent years teaching YOU to
do they don't like change ! hell neither do I ! but I adjust
with my VINO !!!!!!!!!!!!!</DIV>
<DIV>and sweet cheeks still sleeps in a short bed ( looks like midgets stay
here bwahahaha I have a regular bed</DIV>
