Most of the local relatives and in-laws, at least 10 of them. The thing is, I do not really care for turkey or ham, so every Thanksgiving I fix a huge turkey and then refuse to eat any more turkey for a year. So for Christmas I make an old-fashioned Sunday dinner, with roast beef and carrots and potatoes, green beans, gravy, fruit salad, hot rolls and several desserts. Nothing from cans or boxes, it’s all fresh. And everyone loves it. Apparently they love it enough that they voted and just let me know they’re all coming. Oh dear, that means I have to start cleaning house RIGHT NOW. And I really need to finish painting the living room, too.

The dogs love having company, the three of them go from person to person begging for food and attention, they have a ball. Bassets have such goofy personalities, they’re always a hit with everyone. And of course the dogs get to help clean plates after dinner, they each get a nice plate of leftovers. The cats hate having company, they all hide in the garage, or if it’s cold, under the beds. And they hate leftovers. Somehow the cats always know when the last of the company leaves, and in just a few minutes here they come out of hiding.

Our Howliday cards have not shown up yet, but they apparently did ship sometime last week. I hate being late with the cards, but there you go, in between cleaning and painting I’ll get them mailed. The girls and the kitties will help. Oh my. Happy Howlidays to everyone from Mama and the Girls and Kitties.
