Willow had been fighting this for a couple of months, we opted to do only palliative care since Willow was close to being 16yrs old. Our girl is free from her ailments now and from some of the demons that earned her the nickname of Willow Beast.

Despite her grumpiness, she was loved very deeply by Pat and myself. She grew on us, and as we learned what her triggers were with the other hounds, her grumps became much more manageable. I am pretty certain though, she made a few visitors more than concerned as we would have to pick her up out of a fight and take her for a time out.

Up until a couple of months ago, when I would go to kiss her on her face, she would usually put her paw up, just as I was about to kiss her, pushing me away. It was our little game, for me to try and miss her big paw. I truly think she enjoyed when I did this. Lately though, she was not doing that, she was letting us hug on her and kiss her. It was really after that change in her play behavior with me, I knew we were on the downslide to this day.

Fly free sweet Willow!
