<DIV>Good Afternoon </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Our Presley came home today....She had emergency surgery to remove her
spleen and the tumor that was attached.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We used CVA in Newark DE. She was great until she wasn't, it came on
so fast. She ran her Bassett 500 Saturday morning, ate, played and then at
6pm we noticed she had troubles walking, wouldn't get on the sofa. Mark
carried her upstairs and Sunday morning she was off to CVA. We believe she
is 11 or 12 years old, she is a rescue and we have had her for about 8
years.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The Docs gave us an out at every step. Once they realized she had a
tumor on her spleen they said lets do an X-ray to make sure it has not spread to
her lungs if it has we could let her go. Her X-Ray was clear. then it was,
we can open her up and if its spread we can let her go peacefully on the
table with no pain. She SAILED THROUGH the operation, Doc feels that
because of her age and good health she will go on for quite a while. We
are still checking to make sure its benign. They allowed us visiting time
with her and I curled on the floor with her like we do at home on the bed.
She slept in my arms.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>She is on pain meds for one more day, stitches are internal and will
dissolve on their own, She has taken a few licks of peanut butter from me
but has not touch her beneful even when I microwaved it. She is passing
urine and BM's. She is drinking lots of water. They said she needs an
over the counter pepcid once a day. There was a lot of blood
loss. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Mark and I would like to know if anyone has gone through this? Any
tips? suggestions for eating? we don't want to go too far with the peanut
butter. Please pray for her and send drool, I was so happy to see her tail
wagging like old times when she came home.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Thank you</DIV>
